Welcome Note
The German and British Divisions welcomes you to the 13th International Junior Academy Summer School to be held in the training center of the German Division of the IAP in Bonn, Germany virtually and in-person.
As always this annual Summer School is aimed primarily at young pathologists worlwide as well as for specialists for a re-entry.
Selected topics are discussed in depth by experts and participants are encouraged to fully participate in all the sessions and to meet and have discussions with the experts.
The chosen topics will include Liver Pathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology, Mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, Head & Neck, Hematopathology and Immunhiostochemistry.
Participants are also encouraged to bring and present interesting cases on any of these topics which will then be discussed by all the attendees at the School.
The Summer School, unlike other Schools of Pathology, also provides the unique opportunity for participants to meet with other young pathologists from many countries and to exchange ideas.

CME Accreditation
The 13th International Junior Academy – Summer School, Bonn, Germany, 10/08/2023-12/08/2023 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 13 European CME credits (ECMEC®s).
Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at

Bursaries - Attendance on Site & Virtual Attendance
Bursaries for On-site Attendance
The German Division of the IAP and the Vladimir Totović – Foundation provides bursaries to support residents and trainees in pathology from underserved countries. This includes a free registration, 2 nights’ accommodation at Hotel zur Post (August 10 – 12, 2023) and travel grants up to € 300,00 for European applicants and € 500,00 for non-europeans.
To apply for bursaries the following items are necessary
- Submission of a CV and a supporting letter
- A mandatory case presentation
- Submission of an abstract of the case to be presented
- Proof of trainee status
- Presentation of the final report not later than 1 month after the meeting

Cancellation
Cancellation is accepted until July 1st, 2023 minus a service charge of € 30,00. No refund will be given after these dates.
