International Junior Academy – an Overview

The International Junior Academy was established in 2008 by the German Division of the International Academy of Pathology and is aimed at pathologists in training and in the post training period worldwide. The Summer School is organized in cooperation with the British Division of IAP. The focus is on further education, but the event should also offer the opportunity to present scientific topics and innovations. It provides a great opportunity to meet with experts and discuss selected topics in depth. In addition, you can meet colleagues from other countries and exchange ideas. In order to ensure a good interaction between participants and speakers, the number of participants is limited to 30 – 40 participants.

The first events took place in the Monastery Johannisberg. Since 2011 the event takes place alternately in the training center of the German Division of the IAP in Bonn and outside Germany:

• 2016 – no Summer School took place in 2016 due to the Joint IAP / ESP World Congress in Cologne

• 2020 in Bonn / Germany – cancelled due to Corona Pandemic
• 2021 – cancelled due to Corona Pandemic
• 2022 – cancelled
• 2023 in Bonn / Germany
• 2024  in Budapest / Hungary in cooperation with the Hungarian IAP Division – Review
• 2025 in Bordeaux / France in cooperation with the French IAP Division
